Have you ever noticed that fear spreads faster than faith? One bad doctor's report, one unexpected bill, one frightening headline, one negative conversation, and suddenly your entire outlook changes. But here's something worth thinking about. Fear has a frequency, and so does faith. The question isn't whether you're listening, the question is which one are you tuned into. Welcome to the Intentional Grounding Godcast Letters to Isaiah. I'm your faith strategist coach, Dombrowski, and I'm here to help you live out your walk, not just believe it. Well, today we're going to discover why David could honestly admit he was afraid, yet refuse to stay there. You'll learn how fear speaks, how faith answers, and how changing what you're listening to can completely change how you live. Our scripture today actually comes from a man who knew fear firsthand. David wasn't writing from a palace, he was running for his life. Enemies surrounded him, his future looked uncertain. And in the middle of that pressure, he made a decision. Now, David wrote Psalm 56 after being captured by the Philistines. Okay, humanly speaking, his situation looked hopeless. He had every reason to panic. And instead of pretending he wasn't afraid, David showed us what to do with fear when it shows up. Psalm 56, verses three and four. In God, I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? You know, one of the most encouraging words in this passage is the word when. That is significant because faith grows when God's voice becomes louder than fear's voice. Think about radio, okay? Hundreds of stations they're broadcasting all around you. You only hear the one that you're tuned into. Fear works the exact same way. Consistently and constantly broadcast. You're gonna fail. What if everything falls apart? You're all alone. God isn't coming. But faith instead of fear, faith broadcasts something different. God is with you. I've never left you. My promises still stand. Trust in me. Both frequencies are available. Okay, but you cannot fully tune into both at the same time. And the more you feed fear, the louder fear becomes. The more you feed faith, the louder God becomes in your heart. So ask yourself today what have you been listening to lately? Constant bad news, negative people, worst case scenarios, or God's promises, prayer and worship, scripture. Because whatever you listen to repeatedly eventually becomes the voice you believe. And somebody listening today isn't dealing with imaginary fear. You're facing something real, medical tests, financial pressure, relationship struggles, job uncertainty, those things are real. But so is God's faithfulness. Faith doesn't ignore reality. Faith refuses to let reality become greater than God. So stop asking, how do I eliminate fear? And instead, how do I increase my faith? Because the goal isn't living without fear. The goal is learning to trust God even when fear is knocking at your door. Here's a practical challenge for you. Before checking social media tomorrow morning, read one chapter of scripture. Before turning on the news, spend five minutes talking with God, or before listening to everyone's opinion, listen to God's promises. Tune your heart before the world tunes it for you. Okay? And if you keep choosing faith over fear, you're gonna see something incredible. Honestly, the storms won't always disappear, but your panic will. You'll begin responding instead of reacting. You'll be trusting instead of trembling and walking instead of worrying. Not because your life became easier, but because God became bigger in your eyes. So tomorrow morning you'll you'll have another choice. Fear will try to speak, but now you'll recognize its voice. And instead of automatically believing it, you'll intentionally turn towards God's word. And every day you make that choice, your spiritual hearing becomes clearer and your confidence in God grows stronger. Friends, our culture it runs on fear. Fear sells headlines, fear drives clicks, fear fuels arguments. Fear keeps people constantly searching for certainty in places that can never provide it. But throughout scripture, God repeatedly tells his people, do not fear because there was nothing to fear, but because he was greater than what they feared. Fear asks, well, what if? But faith answers, even if, even if I don't understand, God is still faithful, even if I have to wait, God is still working, even if the road gets difficult, God is still walking beside me. Faith doesn't silence every question, it gives every question a trustworthy place to rest. I mean, long after people forget your accomplishments, they're gonna remember how you trusted God during those difficult seasons. Your courage might become someone else's reason to keep believing. So I hope you know this faith is contagious too. Not to my grandson Isaiah, buddy. There are going to be days in your life where fear seems louder than everything else. You'll hear people talk about everything that's wrong with this world. You'll experience moments when you wonder if you're good enough, strong enough, smart enough, or capable enough. That's part of being human. Even great men and women in the Bible experienced fear. David did, Moses did, Elijah did. The difference wasn't that they never felt afraid, it was where they turned when fear arrived. I hope you learn early in life that your heart is always listening to something. If you spend your days filling your mind with worry and negativity and doubt, those voices will eventually sound convincing. But if you spend time listening to God's word, talking with him in prayer, and remembering his promises, your faith will become stronger than your fear. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen one choice at a time. So don't be ashamed when you feel afraid. Instead, let fear become your reminder to run toward God instead of away from him. Courage isn't pretending that everything's okay. Courage is trusting that God is with you even when everything else doesn't make sense. My prayer for you, my prayer for all of you is that no matter what this world throws your way, you will always recognize God's voice above every other voice. When fear whispers, I hope you'll remember that your heavenly father has already spoken something greater. And when you choose to believe him, you'll discover a peace this world could never give you. Man, I love you all. Thank you. Listen, think about it. All right, I want you to think about tuning into an old radio. You know, the one I'm talking about, the with the dials on it, right? If it's between stations, all you hear is static. But when you turn the dial to the right frequency, everything suddenly becomes clear. Our hearts work the same way. If we're constantly tuned to fear, to worry, and the voices of the world, life becomes filled with anxiety and uncertainty. But when we intentionally tune our hearts to God's word, his promises come through with clarity, bringing peace and confidence. So today, make one intentional adjustment to your spiritual dial. Spend that time in Scripture before the world has a chance to tell you what to fear, and let God's truth become the loudest voice in your life. Friends, if today's message encouraged you, share it with someone who is trying to overcome fear by trusting God.
