What Will My Future Bring?

What will your future bring? It's a question every one of us asks at some point. Whether you're facing uncertainty about your family, finances, health, career, or faith, Revelation 1:8 reminds us that God is already present in every tomorrow. Jesus declares that He is the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end—meaning He isn't surprised by what's ahead. He has already gone before you.

Have you ever laid awake at night wondering, will I ever get married? Will I find the right job? Will my health get better? Will my children come back to God? Will I have enough money? What does tomorrow even look like? Friends, the future can feel exciting one day and terrifying the next. But what if your greatest peace isn't found in knowing your future? It's found in knowing who already stands there waiting for you. Today we're talking about why Revelation 1, verse 8 changes the way we look at tomorrow forever. Welcome to the Intentional Grounding Godcast Letters to Isaiah. I'm your host, Coach Dombrowski, and I'm here to help you live out your walk, not just believe it. So grab your Bible, take a deep breath. Let's intentionally ground ourselves in God's truth. Now, today we're getting into Revelation. Now, the book of Revelation, it scares a lot of people. When they hear the word revelation, they think the end times, judgment, the Antichrist, the mark of the beast. But before Revelation tells us about the future, it tells us about the one who controls it. And John begins by reminding us that history isn't random, it belongs to Jesus. He has been exiled to the island of Patmos because of his faith. He's isolated, he's elderly, Rome appears unstoppable. Christians are being persecuted, and from a human perspective, the future looks hopeless. Then God gives John a vision. And before revealing anything about tomorrow, Jesus introduces himself. And the scripture, Revelation 1, verse 8. I love the scripture. And it says, I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Man, that's powerful. I am the Alpha. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Jesus is saying, I was there before anything began, before your first heartbeat. He already existed. Before your first prayer, he already knew your name. Before your first mistake, he already had a plan for redemption. Nothing catches God off guard because nothing begins outside of him. I am the Omega. Omega is the last letter. He is also at the finish line. God doesn't simply know how your story starts, he already knows how it ends. And the chapters that you're still worried about, he's already read. That doesn't mean we know every detail of our future, does it? It means the author does. Who is? God isn't just a God of history. He is present right now. He is with you in today's doctor's appointment, today's interview, your drive to work, today's financial struggle, today's anxiety, today's unanswered prayer. He's not waiting for tomorrow to help you. He is here today. So the next piece of the verse, who was? Think about everything God has already done. Every answered prayer, every miracle, every rescue, every unexpected blessing, every time you thought you wouldn't make it, but somehow you did. Yeah. Your past is evidence that God has been faithful. Who is to come? This might be my favorite part of the verse because God is already in your tomorrow. Tomorrow isn't unknown to him. Next month isn't unknown to him. Next year, even isn't unknown to him. He isn't reacting to your future. He's already there. I mean, imagine hiking through a mountain trail. You can only see the next few feet. God is standing on the highest peak. He sees every turn, every valley, every cliff, every beautiful overlook. He never loses sight of where he's taking you. And the next part of the verse, the Almighty. Not just all-knowing, all powerful. Nothing is stronger. Nothing surprises him. Nothing limits him. No government, no disease, no economy, no diagnosis, no relationship. No mistake you've made. If he's Almighty, then nothing in your future is bigger than the God who's already there. Friends, the world says, control your future. God says, trust me with it. There's a huge difference. Many of us spend so much time trying to predict tomorrow that we miss God today. Faith doesn't eliminate uncertainty, it changes who you trust while you're walking through it. I don't know. Maybe today you're asking, what will happen with my job? What's going to happen with my marriage? What about my children? What about my health? What's going to happen with my finances? And here's the truth: you may not know, but God does. And if the one who already knows tomorrow also promises never to leave you, that's enough. And instead of asking, what will my future bring? Start asking who is already waiting for me there. That changes everything. Because the future isn't just a place that you're heading, it's a place where Jesus already reigns. So this week, every time you catch yourself worrying, replace the worry with this simple prayer. Jesus, you already know tomorrow. Help me trust you today. Don't try to carry information that God never intended you to have, friends. Carry faith instead. You see, the more you know God's character, the less you'll fear life's uncertainty. Your confidence won't come from perfect circumstances. It'll come from a perfect savior. And eventually you're going to realize peace isn't the absence of the unknowns. Peace is the presence of Christ. Tomorrow morning, before you check your phone, before you check the news, before you check your bank account, remind yourself of Revelation 1, verse 8. The God who created your yesterday is already waiting in your tomorrow. Walk into your day with confidence because you're never walking alone. Man, one of the greatest lies that fear tells us is that if we worry enough, we're gonna somehow be more prepared for tomorrow. But worry has never changed our future, has it? It's only stolen today's peace from us. Jesus never promised his followers an easy life. He promised his presence. Think about every major moment in scripture. Noah didn't know when the rain was going to stop. Abraham didn't know where he was going. Moses didn't know how the Red Sea would open. Joshua didn't know how the walls would fall. Right? The disciples didn't know Jesus would calm the storm, yet every one of them discovered that same truth. God was already waiting where they were headed. The future isn't safe because we understand it. The future is safe because the Almighty is already there. Now, to my grandson Isaiah, if you ever find yourself afraid of tomorrow, remember this verse. I know this letter is short, but it is sweet. Don't spend your life trying to predict your future. Spend your life walking with the one who already knows it. You will never regret trusting Jesus one day at a time. Love Jaji. Friends, imagine watching a parade from the sidewalk. I mean, you only see one float at a time. But somebody watching from a helicopter sees the entire parade from the beginning to the end. That's how God sees your life. You only see today's float. God sees the entire story. So don't panic because you can't see around the corner. Trust the one who already can.
