Everybody wants financial freedom. We want to provide for our families, eliminate debt, retire comfortably, and leave something behind for the people we love. But here's the question: What if God isn't just concerned about how much money you have, but how you got it? Because in a world that celebrates overnight success, quick riches, and instant gratification, God teaches something completely different. Today we're talking about building wealth God's way. Not just believe it. Well, our foundation today comes from one simple verse packed with incredible wisdom, Proverbs 13, 11. And it says, dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. Now, really want you to understand this verse here because the phrase dishonest money can also be understood as wealth gained quickly through deception, greed, manipulation, or unethical shortcuts. Okay, it's it isn't condemning wealth itself. Scripture never teaches that money is evil, it teaches that the love of money and the pursuit of wealth apart from God's principles becomes dangerous. The phrase little by little really paints a picture of patience, steady effort, daily faithfulness, small deposits over time. God isn't impressed by the shortcuts, he's pleased by consistency. All right, in historical context, ancient Israel was largely an agricultural society. Farmers, they all understood the seasons. Okay, no one planted wheat one day and then harvested the next. Growth required time, rain, right? Patience, faith. And that same principle, it applies to finances. God built his creation around gradual growth. Trees grow gradually, children mature gradually. The same goes for faith and character, they develop gradually. Why should wealth be any different? Now, Ecclesiastes, it reminds us that there is a season for everything. Okay, that's a great cross for cross-reference for you. Now, Jesus compared God's kingdom to seeds growing slowly beneath the soil. And Paul wrote that those who are unwilling to work shouldn't expect to eat. And throughout scripture, we see this consistent pattern of God blessing faithful stewardship far more often than sudden fortune. Now, our culture tells us to get rich fast. Buy this course, invest in this secret, hit the lottery, go viral, become an overnight success. But here's something that I've noticed: most overnight success took years, nobody noticed. The athlete practiced thousands of hours, the business owner endured countless failures, the craftsman mastered his trade, the faithful Christian spent years growing quietly with God. The visible success was simply the fruit. The roots were planted long before. And you guys know I like that term, roots before fruits. See, God usually blessed the process before promotion. And sometimes we become frustrated because someone else seems to be moving faster, right? But again, comparison is dangerous. You don't know what compromises were made, you don't know about the sacrifices, and you certainly don't know what God is protecting you from. I would rather arrive slowly with God's blessings than quickly without his favor. God isn't simply just building your bank account, he's building your character. Okay, because if your character isn't ready for greater blessings, greater blessings can become greater burdens. Maybe today your financial progress feels painfully slow. You know, you're paying off debt one payment at a time. You know, you're putting $20 into savings, you're investing for retirement, you're building a business, you're working overtime, you're saying no to all of the unnecessary spending, and none of it feels exciting. But God sees every faithful decision, every small choice becomes another brick in a foundation that will eventually support something much bigger. And some of us need to stop praying for sudden wealth and start praying for faithful stewardship, because stewardship comes before abundance. If we aren't faithful with little, why would God entrust us with more? Think about it. Instead of asking, how quickly can I get rich, ask how can I become faithful consistently? One question chases wealth, the other builds character. And character is what sustains blessings. So this week, take one financial step that honors God. It may be creating a budget, paying down debt, giving generously, avoiding impulse purchases, saving something, even if it's only a few dollars. You know, faithfulness compounds just like interest. And if you continue choosing integrity over shortcuts, patience over pressure, faithfulness over flashy success, friends, you're gonna discover something amazing. Your greatest wealth may not simply be what's sitting in your bank account. It will be the peace that comes from knowing God built it with you. So tomorrow morning, before you spend a single dollar or make a financial decision, ask yourself does this choice move me towards the life God wants me to build? I think that one question can completely change your future. Financial wealth isn't the only wealth that God wants you to grow, by the way. He wants growing faith, growing wisdom, relationships, generosity, growing integrity, growing peace. You know it and I know it. Money can disappear overnight. But godly character continues paying dividends for the rest of your life. I mean, if God gave you $10 million tomorrow, would your character know what to do with it? I mean, that's why God develops the person before He develops the portfolio. The world teaches us to chase bigger income. God teaches us to become better stewards because stewardship determines sustainability. And a person who manages little faithfully can usually manage a lot faithfully. But someone who mishandles little will usually mishandle much. Growth, God's way isn't flashy, it's faithful. And faithfulness always produces fruit in God's timing. Remember this God is far more interested in building the person who handles the blessing than simply handing out the blessing itself. Now, to my grandson Isaiah, one day you'll probably hear people talk about getting rich fast. They're gonna tell you there's always an easier way or a quicker way or a shortcut that everyone else is taking. And I hope you remember that the strongest things in life are almost never built overnight. Whether you're building your faith, your career, your family, your finances, don't be discouraged by a slow process or slow progress. Every honest day's work, every wise decision, every sacrifice that you make is like laying another brick in a foundation that nobody notices at first, but everybody appreciates later. You know, I don't pray that you'll become the richest man in the room. Honestly, I pray that you become the most trustworthy. Money comes and money goes, but integrity follows you everywhere. And if people know your word can be trusted and your heart belongs to God, you'll possess something far more valuable than a large bank account. Keep putting God first. Work hard, be generous, live honestly. I mean, if God chooses to bless you with great wealth, receive it with humility. If he blesses you with just enough, be thankful anyway. Either way, you've already become richer than many people because you'll have a relationship with the one who owns it all. Love Jaji. Man, friends, imagine planting an oak tree today. Then one day it becomes a tree that provides shade and protection and strength for generations. That's what God is doing when you choose faithfulness over shortcuts. Every wise decision, every honest dollar earned, every act of good stewardship is strengthening your roots. Don't despise slow growth. God often does his greatest work where nobody else is looking.
